Scholarships
James Cook University Destination Scholarship DESCRIPTION: The aim of the Destination Australia Program is to attract and support International and Domestic students to study in regional Australia and receive a high quality learning experience. CRITERIA: "An International student studying on a valid student visa; and A commencing student in 2020 enrolled full time in an approved course." VALUE: $15,000 per year. The JCU College Pathways Scholarship DESCRIPTION: Supports students who successfully enrol into the Diploma of Science, Diploma of technology and Diploma of Engineering based in Townsville in 2020 CRITERIA: Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent. Contact our admissions team for country specific entry requirements. JCU College English for Academic Purposes Level 2 or IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5.0) or equivalent. VALUE: 25% reduction in tuition fees

Experience our chill, relaxed NQ lifestyle as you begin your journey to your new career, balancing strong study ethic with exercise, good food, sport, recreation and continual fun! You'll create your own stories, and memories for life, in a safe, secure family environment. Off-campus: We recommend international students considering living off-campus to arrive at least one week prior to JCU Orientation so they can view properties before signing a lease. Home stay: Homestay offers a fantastic introduction to life in a new country for international students. One of the best options for short term and temporary accommodation for students is to spend their first 4 weeks in Australia with a host from an accredited homestay organisation. Short-term accommodation: Short term accommodation is available on-campus prior to O-week and the accommodation office and the international support team are able to provide support as required to find suitable long term accommodation Shared accommodation: Shared accommodation is a great idea if you want to live independently and want to meet new people. Share accommodation occurs when you either move into a house that is occupied by other people or you agree to rent a property with other people. Sharing a house with other people is a cost effective way to live because you share the costs of living with other people.

Study Abroad
The Study Abroad or inbound Exchange Program at James Cook University (JCU) offers you the opportunity to study in tropical North Queensland for one or two semesters. As a Study Abroad or inbound Exchange student you can choose from over 300 subjects in different academic study areas at JCU and receive credit for your studies at your home institution.
