Airport Pickup

Monash University welcomes new international students with a free airport pick-up service for students arriving at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL) for the first time. Our drivers will take you to your accommodation, which you’ll need to have arranged before your arrival. Make sure you’ve enrolled in units before you try to book your airport pick-up. Book before you leave You need to book your airport pick-up at least four working days before you arrive in Melbourne. If you’re under 18 or a PhD student, you may be able to have a family member accompany you (we'll assess your request on a case-by-case basis). You’ll get a confirmation email from Aero Corporate Cars with instructions for finding your driver when you arrive. If you need to change your booking, you must let Aero know at least 14 hours before your arrival. Drop-off location Your driver can only take you to one address. They can’t make stops for you to collect keys, buy food or change currency. If you need to collect keys, arrange for someone to meet you at the airport 45 minutes after your flight lands, or at your drop-off location. If you’re going to Monash Residential Services accommodation, these are the three drop-off locations (choose the one where you’ll be staying): Urban Community Administration Office at 38 College Walk, Monash Clayton campus Residential Village Administration Office at 58 College Way, Monash Clayton campus Peninsula Residential Office at Level 1 Building U, Monash Peninsula campus.

  • Monash University provides diverse facilities across its campuses:
  • Academic & Research: State-of-the-art laboratories (e.g., New Horizons Centre, MCN), the Australian Synchrotron (adjacent to Clayton), and extensive campus libraries (Caulfield, Matheson, Peninsula).
  • Sport & Recreation: Fully equipped fitness centers and gyms at Caulfield, Clayton, and Peninsula; indoor/outdoor courts for various sports; a swimming pool at Clayton; and games rooms.
  • Arts & Culture: Performing arts venues including the Alexander Theatre and Robert Blackwood Concert Hall, and the Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA).
  • Accommodation & Support: On-campus accommodation options, food and retail outlets, student service centers, health and wellbeing services (medical/dental), and campus transport options including shuttle buses.

Scholarships

International Student Scholarship

Monash International Merit Scholarship: Offers up to A$50,000 towards undergraduate course fees (A$10,000 per year for up to five years).
Monash Graduate Scholarship (MGS) & Monash International Tuition Scholarship (MITS): For high-achieving research students (Masters by Research or PhD), covering tuition fees and/or a living allowance (stipend).
Faculty-specific scholarships: Various scholarships offered by individual faculties for specific fields of study.
Eligibility generally requires academic excellence and often an offer of admission. Many scholarships involve automatic consideration when you apply for a course; others require a separate application.

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation

Monash Residential Services offers various living options at the Clayton and Peninsula campuses.
Clayton campus

Clayton Residential Village: Offers a traditional residential experience in halls and shared flats.

Halls of Residence : Include Deakin Hall, Farrer Hall, Howitt Hall, Richardson Hall, and Roberts Hall. They provide private, furnished bedrooms with shared facilities and a supportive residential community.

Shared Flats : Furnished flats feature two to five private bedrooms and shared living areas, bathrooms, and kitchens.

Clayton Urban Community: Consists of modern halls with a mix of self-contained studio apartments and shared apartments.
Halls: Include Briggs Hall, Campbell Hall, Holman Hall, Jackomos Hall, Logan Hall, and Turner Hall.

Mannix College : This is an independent residential college affiliated with Monash University, located near the Clayton campus.
Peninsula campus

Peninsula Residential Village: Offers shared houses and units with private bedrooms and shared kitchen, living, and laundry facilities.
Peninsula Gillies Hall: Australia's first student accommodation built to Passive House standards. It features 150 self-contained studio apartments with kitchenettes and private bathrooms.

Off-campus accommodation

Monash provides students with information and support to help them find private accommodation. The university can offer advice on renting, lease agreements, budgeting, and connecting with utilities.
Preferred Student Accommodation Providers: Monash lists external providers that offer purpose-built student accommodation. Students can get information and contact details through MRS's off-campus accommodation team.

Private rental market : The university offers advice to students on how to find private rentals. The off-campus accommodation team can be reached via email at mrs.offcampus@monash.edu.
Homestay: This option allows students, particularly international students, to live with a local family. Monash provides information about homestay options and connects students with providers like the Australian Homestay Network (AHN)
