Scholarships

The University of Queensland (QLD) 1. UQ International Scholarship CRITERIA: is an international student; has their most recent qualification from Australia; has applied to undertake studies at UQ on a full-time basis in a relevant program commencing Semester 1, 2021 and has received an offer. Students with conditional offers need to submit their latest transcripts by 4 December 2020 or they may not be considered; will enrol full time; VALUE - A$5000 tuition fee reduction per semester for the first two semesters (A$10,000 in total) 2. Science International Scholarship CRITERIA: Be able to be classified as an international student in Australia. By the scholarships closing date, submit all documentation to meet conditions associated with an offer from UQ for an approved program. Demonstrate strong academic performance as part of the UQ program application. Be enrolling in a program administered by the UQ Faculty of Science; the program must be of more than one years duration (full time). Be enrolling in their first semester of study at UQ VALUE - $3,000 3. UQ Excellence Scholarship for international students CRITERIA: is an international student; has applied to undertake studies at UQ on a full-time basis in a relevant program commencing Semester 1, 2021 and has received an unconditional offer; will enrol full time; has satisfied the program entry rank and English language proficiency requirements; has not received another scholarship from UQ; has not received a full scholarship/sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships/sponsorships will be considered at the University's discretion); and is an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student and has achieved a CGPA equivalent of 6.75 and above (on the UQ 7-point scale); or is a high school leaver and has achieved an entry rank of 99; or is a credit articulation student from a UQ partner institution and has achieved an equivalent CGPA of 6.75 and above (on the UQ 7-point scale) (applicable to all programs covered by an articulation agreement, unless otherwise determined by the University). Value: 20% reduction in tuition fees per year

Accommodation

Off-campus: UQ-approved accommodation providers have to deliver high-quality services and residences with a focus on enhancing the student experience. On-campus: On-campus accommodation providers deliver high-quality services and residences with a focus on enhancing the student experience. UQ, Rental: UQ Rentals is an online resource available to UQ students, staff, and partners to assist them in finding accommodation during their time at The University. The platform connects these prospective Tenants to Providers with vacant properties and rooms close to our St Lucia, Herston, and Gatton campuses. Short Term Accommodation: If you are travelling from an area outside of Brisbane, interstate or overseas and have not yet arranged accommodation, we recommend you book short term/ temporary accommodation for around 1-2 weeks so you can consider all your accommodation options, including physically inspecting properties. These options may also be suitable for students who are ending their lease and needing temporary or short term accommodation.

Airport Pickup

UQ can provide transport from Brisbane domestic or international airport for international students. If you are an ICTE package offer student, you will need to wait until you receive your UQ account activation email before requesting an airport pickup. This is usually sent 3 weeks prior to your classes commencing.

Study Abroad

This program is available to students currently studying at an accredited university overseas. As a Study Abroad student, you can study at UQ for one or two semesters and you will be enrolled as a non-award student. You must submit your application and pay tuition fees to UQ. Credit for courses successfully completed is normally transferable towards your home university degree. There are two options for Study Abroad at UQ: Study Abroad - 4 courses Most students will select this option as it provides the credit required by their home institution for a standard full-time semester study load. Study Abroad - 3 courses If you know that you want to take only 3 courses at UQ, this option allows you to do so for a reduced tuition fee. If you choose this option, please be sure to check with your home university, as a standard full-time load at UQ is 4 courses. If you do only 3 courses you may not receive credit for a full-time load at home.
