Graduate Certificate in Construction Management
Course Overview
The Graduate Certificate of Construction Management course is aimed at qualifying students to apply the construction management body of knowledge and relevant skills to undertake various technical and management roles in the project-based construction industry. In addition, this course provides pathways for graduates with cognate qualifications and experience to progress to a higher-level course within the nested suite. Graduates of this course will have specialized knowledge of construction management regarding managing people, equipment, materials, built environment and infrastructure assets, as well as overseeing technological processes and managerial aspects related to the design, construction and maintenance of buildings and civil infrastructure.Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have one of the following: a Bachelor (Honours) (AQF level 8) or a Bachelor (AQF level 7) degree in any of following disciplines: 1. Engineering (Civil/ Construction) 2. Building 3. Architecture 4. Quantity Surveying 5. Construction Management 6. Other related engineering/ technology disciplines assessed to be appropriate, OR an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma (AQF level 6) in one of the above-mentioned cognate fields plus 3 years relevant work experience in the construction management domain*; OR a Diploma (AQF level 5) in a cognate field plus 5 years relevant work experience in the construction management domain*; OR a Bachelor degree (AQF level 7 or 8) in any discipline plus 5 years relevant work experience in the construction management domain* *Relevant professional experience and evidence of academic capability will be determined by the Head of Academic Unit (or delegate) with reference to School-determined guiding principles. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application. Documents substantiating relevant experience are required, clearly detailing roles and duration, as well as evidence of formal and non-formal learning.
